Privacy Policy

This Policy describes what personal data the Smart Job Finder service (the “Service”, the site smartjob.cc) processes, for what purpose and on what legal basis, who it is shared with and what rights you have. The Service shows jobs from open job APIs (Adzuna and Arbeitsagentur) and helps you filter them by your criteria.

Operator and contact

The personal-data operator is The owner of smartjob.cc (a private individual). For any questions about data processing, as well as for requests to access, correct or delete your data, write to privacy@smartjob.cc.

What data we collect

• Account data: your name (how to address you) and email address — you provide these when registering. Your password is stored only as a cryptographic hash (scrypt); it is not available to us in plain form.
• Profile photo — if you choose to upload one. It is stored as a private file accessible only to you.
• Technical session data: IP address and browser details (User-Agent) — stored together with your active sign-in session to protect your account.
• Usage data: saved jobs, application marks, hidden jobs, personal notes and filter settings. They are tied to your account and visible only to you.

The Service does not collect special categories of data (health, political views and the like). The job feed, browsing and filtering are available without registration — without an account we do not save your settings between sessions.

Purposes of processing

• registration and sign-in, maintaining your session;
• providing the Service’s features — saving jobs, notes, filters, application marks;
• sending service emails (registration confirmation, password reset, notification of a password change);
• protecting accounts and the Service from unauthorised access and abuse.

Legal bases

We process data on the basis of your consent, which you give when registering, and to the extent necessary to perform our agreement with you — providing the Service’s features. Consent can be withdrawn at any time (see “Your rights” and “Consent”).

Who we share data with

We do not sell your data and do not share it with third parties for advertising. A limited set of data is processed by our technical contractors — solely to run the Service:

• Resend — sending service emails (receives your email address and the message text);
• hosting provider — the server on which the Service and its database are hosted.

When we add web analytics (Umami on our own server), it will collect anonymised visit statistics without cookies and without identifying you. Some contractors (for example, the email delivery service) may be located outside your country — by giving us your email you agree to the cross-border transfer of data to the extent necessary to deliver messages. The Service has no payments, so we do not collect or share any payment data.

Retention periods

Account data and related data are stored while your account exists. Sign-in sessions expire automatically (by default, after 30 days of inactivity). After you delete your account, all related data is deleted irreversibly.

Cookies and analytics

The Service uses only a technical cookie to maintain your sign-in session — without it sign-in does not work. We do not set tracking or advertising cookies. The planned Umami analytics works without cookies. Learn more in the Cookie Policy.

Your rights

You can:

• obtain information about which of your data we process;
• correct your profile data — in your account settings;
• delete your account and all related data — in your profile settings (“Danger zone”);
• withdraw consent to processing — by deleting your account or writing to privacy@smartjob.cc.

To exercise a right that cannot be handled in the interface, write to privacy@smartjob.cc — we will reply within a reasonable time.

Consent to the processing of personal data

By registering with the Service, you confirm that you have read this Policy and give the Operator (The owner of smartjob.cc) your consent to process the personal data you provide — your name and email address, as well as the data you create while using the Service (saved jobs, notes, filter settings). Processing includes the collection, recording, storage, use, modification and deletion of this data for the purpose of providing the Service’s features. Consent is valid until you delete your account or withdraw consent and can be withdrawn at any time through your profile settings or at privacy@smartjob.cc.

Changes to the policy

We may update this Policy. The current version is always available on this page; the date of the last update is shown at the top.
